SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Southern Maine Community College is offering free weatherization classes to help homeowners cut their energy bills.
The two-hour classes will teach participants how heat escapes from homes and what cost-effective steps can be taken to increase energy efficiency.
College President Ron Cantor says the workshops will give people an opportunity to stay warm at a time when oil prices are going up and heating assistance and temperatures are going down.
The classes are being offered 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24 and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.
Advanced registration is required. Information is available at www.smccme.edu.
