BANGOR – Robert D. Spinney, 69, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Old Town, to George and Olive (Durant) Spinney. He was one of identical triplets. One of the triplets died at birth and he and his surviving brother, Richard, had a strong and caring bond throughout his life.
Robert is also survived by a niece, Morgan Spinney of Boston; a sister-in-law, Maureen Walsh of Bangor; and a special adopted sister, Kathleen Spinney of East Millinocket. He was predeceased by his companion of many years, Patricia Alley.
Bob loved football and golf and the show “Law and Order.” He loved talking about politics and he had a great wit. He worked in hotels around the country including The Balsams in the White Mountains. and The Palm Beach Hotel. He loved to entertain friends with stories of his travels. He will be missed by those who loved him. A special thanks to New Hope Hospice.
