WATERVILLE, Maine — A New Hampshire-based group is putting up billboards with a goal of spreading the word about missing toddler Ayla Reynolds.

The group Lost N Missing reached out to the family of Ayla with the idea of putting the $30,000 reward and police contact information on billboards.

Ayla was 20 months old when she was reported missing on Dec. 17 by her father, Justin DiPietro, of Waterville. He told police he last saw Ayla when he put her to bed the night before.

Police have labeled her disappearance a crime.

WABI-TV says the group put up eight billboards in Philadelphia and one near the Meadowlands in New Jersey and is working to get billboards in Boston and New Hampshire.

  1. Please put up one of these “Ayla is Missing  Billboards”  near where it could do some Real good…….How about the corner of Violette Avenue and Purinton Street in Waterville Maine since the crime happened at Ayla’s Violette Avenue home.

Those who know what happened to this little girl should have a daily Visual Reminder.

(Lance DiPietro was convicted of seven misdemeanors and five civil violations since 2002, according to Waterville District Court records, including allowing a minor to possess alcohol, underage drinking and theft.)

  2. I guess if the perps had any brains (did I actually suggest that?) they wouldn’t “mess” where they live, so maybe Ayla is not in Waterville or Maine.  But the perps also don’t seem to have great resources with which to facilitate a long distance transport…for disposal or, more hopefully, hiding.

If I allow myself to indulge in thinking Ayla will be found safe, I wonder what she’d think looking back on these stories and posts when she is old enough to comprehend…

  3. I’d stick a billboard right across the street from their home with a light that illuminated at night so bright that they couldn’t sleep.  That baby is not in Maine. They had a week or more to do what they had to do to cover their tracks. Not too bright, but they seemingly know how to drive, run a laptop, make cell calls and fight.

  4. Billboard should read:  “REWARD”  $30,000. reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of and concealment of the remains of Ayla Reynolds, 20 months, of Waterville, Maine.
