EDMOND, Okla. – Dale Louise McLaughlin passed away Feb. 8, 2012, after a short illness. She was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Gardiner, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ivan E. McLaughlin.

She attended Higgins Classical Institute and University of Maine. Dale worked as court recorder for several counties in the state of Maine most notably in Portland and in Dover-Foxcroft for many years. She moved to Stillwater, Okla., in 1980 and worked at Oklahoma State University, primarily in the graduate studies program from the mid-1990s until her retirement in 2006.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Lea Cote and family, and Jane McLaughlin and family; brother, Thomas McLaughlin and family; nephews, Dr. Steven McLaughlin, Dr. Peter McLaughlin and family, and Dr. Michael McLaughlin and family; and Mr. Boo, her cat.

Services celebrating Dale’s life will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond, Okla. A celebration service will also take place in Maine later this year, details to be announced.
