OLD TOWN – Joseph S. Seymour, 85, died Feb. 19, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Old Town, son of Theresa Richard and Rudolph Seymour.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and golf at Hidden Meadows. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He served his country for three years in the Air Force. He worked at Owens-Illinois,
Old Town, for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Venita (Lamb) Seymour of Old Town; four daughters, Paula Sanborn of Old Town, Cookie DeWitt and her husband, Kirt, of Levant, Kim Seymour and husband, Loren Byrne, of Bristol, R.I., and Robin Seymour of Rockland; two granddaughters, Sherry Hayes and her husband, Jason, of Georgia and Melisa Hatch and her husband, Wesley, of Argyle; a grandson, Justin DeWitt of Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Seymour and his wife, Maria, of Arizona; two sisters, Linda Doucette and Donna Grindle and her husband, Buddy, all of Bradley; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Maine Veterans Home for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Joe and the entire family.
