HOULTON – Ruth A. Crone, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 21, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Littleton, daughter of Beecher and Rose (Lockhart) Hutchinson.
Ruth was a member of Military Street Baptist Church for 58 years, which was a true testament to the importance of her faith. She was active in Bible study, taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of American Baptist Women. Ruth was employed at Houlton Trust Co. for many years, and was co-owner and operator of Crone Apartments with her husband, Raymond. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Crone; son, Richard Crone and his wife, Robin, all of Houlton; daughter, Laura Crone Fitzgerald and her husband, Darryl, of Livermore; five grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, Courtney, Alex and Kyle; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ronald, Albert and Claude Hutchinson; and six sisters, Iva Henderson, Lena Simpson, Audrey Henderson, Mary Henderson, Hazel Tingley and Jean McBride.
Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. Saturday at Houlton Military Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
