UNION, Maine — Residents who want to talk about any town issue in an informal setting have their opportunity Monday evening, Feb. 27.
Town Manager Jay Feyler said in a news release that he suggested such meetings when he was hired three years ago and the selectmen have agreed with the idea.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. at the town office, residents can ask questions about town government, budgets, policies and anything else. He said the only exceptions on topics are personnel issues and any pending legal case.
The informational session will allow more in-depth discussions than is available at the annual town meetings, he said.

Very funny. In the neighboring town of Washington, residents feel free to ask the Selectboard questions any time they want, either in the town office, in the local stores or on the phone. I haven’t been a Selectman for 17 years now and they STILL call me with questions, which I am glad to answer by the way. No one here needs a special invitation to do something like ask questions. Sheesh.
Should be an interesting meeting. I know a couple people that have questions and will be there. I dont live in that town so I wont be attending but im sure I will hear about it.
Ill agree with you vexman, you should be able to ask any question any time, there should not be a special town meeting for that purpose.
