PLAINVILLE, Conn. – Peter P. Toschi, beloved husband, devoted father, and dear friend to many, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his home. Peter was born May 2, 1961, in Fort Kent, son of Lucille (Pelletier) Toschi of Fort Kent and the late Joseph Peter Toschi.

Raised in Plainville, Conn., Peter attended local schools, and was 1980 graduate of Plainville High, where he played football and was an All-State wrestler. He studied business management at Central Connecticut State University, where he played football. Peter met and married his soul mate and best friend, Desiree (Mastrianni), sharing more than 13 years together. He was well known in the security industry, working for more than 30 years at Concert Services, Inc., as a coordinator and personal guard for many public figures, including Michael Bolton and Charlie Daniels. He more recently took on a position performing HVAC duties at the University of Connecticut Health Center, where he worked for the past five years. A sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. His greatest passion was for helping others in and outside of work. His self-lessness and sincere kindness created an endless network of friends, each who will greatly miss him and the many stories that he always had to share.

In addition to his mother and his wife, he leaves his beloved son, Niko Toschi of North Branford, Conn.; sister, Dorothy Hartt and her husband, David, of Fort Kent; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Richard and Lucille Mastrianni of Kissimmee, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn and Manny Bairos of Southington, Conn.; sister-in-law, Dawn Baral and her fiance, Greg Ortez, of New Britain, Conn.; sister-in-law, Beth Mastrianni of Orlando, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and their families, Leslie Marquis and her husband, Adrien, Sarah Ashley and her husband, Jared, Andrew Hartt and his wife, Sheri, William Hartt, all of Maine, James Baral of Boynton Beach, Fla., Joseph and Janeece Burnette of Orlando, Fla., and Victoria Bairos of Southington, Conn. Pete will also be missed by many cousins; and his dog, Buddy.

Family and friends may gather 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville, Conn. A memorial Mass in celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Church. In lieu of flowers, Peter may be remembered with contributions to Leukemia Foundation.
