BANGOR and LUBBOCK, Texas – Beloved sister, wife, mother and friend, Helen Griffin passed away March 11, 2012, in Lubbock, Texas. Helen was born Jan. 22, 1928, to George Maurice and Ida Lillian (Tapley) Perfitt.
She married Lawrence N. Griffin, Aug. 12, 1953. Helen was the “General” during her career at Husson College.
Helen was predeceased by her husband in 2008; parents; and sister, Jaska MacKenzie. She is survived by four daughters, Nora Griffin-Shirley, Esther Lucey, Elteen Bogoslawski and husband, Michael, and Eloise Griffin; grandchildren, Stephanie Perkins and husband, James, William Lucey Jr. and wife, Melissa, Karia Bogoslawski, Timothy Bogoslawski, and Sidney Kinser and husband, Jeff; great-grandsons, Patrick and Trevor Kinser, Jared Bellamy and Keagan Lucey; siblings, Audrey Dyer, Patricia Corey, Robert Perfitt, and Donald Perfitt and wife, Phyllis; numerous loving nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers who she loved dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate her 84 years of life will be held at a later date in Maine. The family of Helen Griffin suggests honor memorials to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
