FORT FAIRFIELD – Richard P. “Dick” Dorsey, 55, passed away Sunday morning, March 18, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility, after an extended illness. He was born May 17, 1956, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Willis B. and Patricia (Quigley) Dorsey.

He was a communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1975. Dick had been employed by several area farmers and businesses, including A.W. Chapman and Sons as a carpenter for many years.

He is survived by his parents, Willis and Patricia Dorsey of Fort Fairfield; one daughter, Erica Dorsey of Boston; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert D. and Ellen Dorsey of Fort Fairfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jo “Joey” and Leslie Birmingham of Freeport; one granddaughter, Sasha Kilroy of Oklahoma.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. A time continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the funeral Mass at Knights of Columbus Hall, Council No. 1753, 260 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Dorsey to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O.
