BOSTON — A 39-year-old Hanover, Mass., plumber has won the $1,000-a-day-for-life lottery prize.
Massachusetts State Lottery officials say Bruce Campbell picked numbers 1, 2, 6, 10, 19 and 15 to net the first grand prize in the new Lucky for Life game.
The first drawing for the game, played in all six states in New England, was March 8 in Hartford, Conn.
Campbell bought the ticket at Myette’s Country Store in Hanover, which gets $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials say Campbell attended high school with the store’s owner. They rode to lottery headquarters Tuesday in the same limousine for a check presentation.
Officials report that Campbell said he’ll splurge on a Cadillac and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and also make some investments.

Ever notice that the only lottery stories in the media involve winners? How about equal time for the millions who bought losing tickets? lol. Ever notice that all the commercials for Hollywood Slots/ Hollywood Casino show the player turning up 21? Where are the 12’s and 13’s? lol.
LOL! Yeah, how ’bout a real commercial showing me trying to pay my car payment with losing lotto tickets……Or, me exiting the casino with my head low, on the cell explaining to my wife how it was the strangest thing how the wind all of a sudden blew with fury as soon as I took the house payment money out of my wallet!
easy!! Never gamble with what your not willing to lose!! leave the credit cards, and bill money at home, set a limit.. I did… I had $120 for me and my girfriend to hit up hollywood slots.. both of us got $60.. she lost all of hers.. on my last $10 I won a tripple 7’s slot jackpot of $283.00 I called it a night, and left with just under $300.. the trick is to know when to stop!!
Well it’s only natural that the casino advertises like that… but it’s a shame that the news outlets put on the same sort of commercials, isn’t it?
News outlets are in business to make money including this one. That’s a good thing.
Sounds like a story on the Onion. 87 million people did not win the lottery today.
Congratulations!!
For the plummer to win , hundreds of thousands had to loose !
So, They had the same chance.
Exactly. It is little comments like some here that will show you the liberals true beliefs. They want to take away so much of your freedom that you would not even have the freedom to buy a lottery ticket with your own money if they had their way. Forget about guns, healthcare, fiscal policy and so on. Liberalism and communism are almost the same. That is the greatest problem we face in this country, spoiled rotten liberals.
This is an interesting lottery game. While a metric ton of cash (after taxes) being dumped on me is tempting, aka powerball megabucks, etc…I like the idea of just making $1000/day (pretax) for doing nothing at all. Continue to work, funnel money into mortgage. Then start w/ the smallest bills and rocket up the chain. Debt free in months, permanent home. Now that $1000 is yours to do with as you please. Until you die. Retirements covered needless to say.
Gobs of money can ruin people, this is a permanent stable income from now until you croak.
Yep. But he can do all kinds of good for others too. Lots of hungry mouths out there.
If 1k a day for the rest of your life is considered a huge lottery win, well, you know, many of us have already done that many times over.
My dear cousin Bruce! Remember me? I was at your wedding. Yep. The psychic who gave you the winning numbers.
Wow Plumber won at the same store his High School buddy owned? Rode in the same limousine to pick up the prize. How coincidental.
1k a day… I could be out of debt in a week…. out of my mortgage in a year….wow…
Still no hope for Joe the plumber.
Wow, lucky guy! Wouldn’t mind being in his shoes!
