SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A New York man was arrested Tuesday night after police found numerous oxycodone pills and bags of crack cocaine in his possession during the execution of a search warrant, Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Donald Banks, 25, is facing two counts of trafficking in a schedule W drug, possession of a schedule W drug, both Class B offenses; and a Class C charge of possession of a schedule W drug, Gottardi said.

About 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant on East Front Street in Skowhegan, Gottardi said. Police confronted Banks as he got out of a taxicab.

During the search, 90 oxycodone pills and 20 individual bags of crack cocaine were found on Banks’ person, and he was arrested, according to Gottardi.

During the investigation, authorities determined that drugs were being brought to Maine from New York and distributed throughout the Skowhegan and Waterville areas. The Skowhegan and Waterville police departments assisted in the investigation, Gottardi said, and more charges could be brought against Banks, pending a review by the district attorney’s office.

Banks faces up to 10 years in prison on the Class B charges, and five years on the Class C count.

    1. Real cutie isn’t he? Looks hungry too. He probably just needs some rehab and will be fine.

  1. Did you read the other story ? of the arrest of the Norridgewock drug dealer[alleged] who lives about 2 miles from the one in this story.   The drug trade has got so bad  in the Skowhegan area.  And it is accelerating.  I work with young people and they confide in me to what is going on,how easy it is to buy drugs, alcohol out on the streets , in parking lots.
Police? Norridgewock and other towns have no police department. Skowhegan selectman cut the town police force last year. The State police? Ha! The entire Maine State police force is deployed in Southern Maine,at least it seems., doing traffic duty, nothing wrong with that per sec but there is drug dealing up here! Gone rampant.

    1. The number of people arrested in Maine for drug possession who are from a “diverse” background is by far smaller than the number of arrests from the predominant (white) race in Maine.

      1.  Maybe illegalouts  is talking about celebrating the diversity of allowing immigrants from the Northwestern Europe area of the world into this country. Those surnames are in the Maine crime news more than surnames that end with z

        1. I wish that is what he meant, it would be more original at least.  Don’t think that’s what he meant though.

    1.  The names of the people who bought from him are the names of the people who gave him up to the police.  That’s how it works.  Get busted, rat out, and go free.  The police make deals all the time to make it look like they did some super detective work.

  2. no work =more drugs you drive around and see new trucks, cars , Atvs and other high ticket toys in yards, but no one go’s to work.and its not just young people.this fellow is just a thug that needs to pull up his pants and some back woods justice then told to stay where he came from.he’ll get 60 days and play jail house cool dude and be right back at it poisoning our youths
