Thanks for the season Black Bears and congrats for making the journey last into the play-offs….so glad that Abbott was able to play and will be looking forward to getting next season’s tickets in the mail later this year…..Go Blue!
This was Tim Whitehead’s final game as UME’s coach. He should resign at once or expect to be fired next week. But please don’t replace him with former Gov. Baldacci even though, rumor has it, our GREAT GOV really wants that job.
Who in his right mind would fire a coach who just led a team to an NCAA regional?
An AD who wants to get this team over the hump and back to winning at the National level on a consistent basis. But, we all know Abbott isn’t that kind of AD.
Face it, even if Whitehead led Maine to the championship game and lost, his haters would still want him fired.
College hockey is a lot more competitive these days compared to how it was back in the Shawn Walsh era.
There will never be another Walsh, so get over it.
Your right their is never going to be another Walsh, but if the team isn’t peforming which they haven’t done up until this year their is no excuses for keeping the guy. That is why I am disappointed in Steve Abbott. I thought he would have gone in and made whole sale changes to everything. From making changes to coaching staffs and exploring alternatives to the America Least the worst conference in Sports. He has only made 1 good move so far and that was firing the Princess which was long overdue.
Well his record isn’t worth a multi-year contract extension like Woodward just got, Woodward’s record is awful as well. Their performance over the last 6 years isn’t something to be proud of alot of us have wanted him gone a long time ago. We will give him a free pass for now, but if the team has an abysmal start next year their should be no excuses on making a change.
