PRESQUE ISLE – Emery J. Kinney Sr., 82, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Upper Kent, New Brunswick, the son of the late Dorothy Easler.

Emery served in the Korean War. He drove truck for Potato Service, Aroostook Beverage and Farm Foods. After his retirement he worked part time for Monson Transport delivering the Bangor Daily News.

Emery was an avid Red Sox fan and he also enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, solitaire and his lottery tickets.

Emery is survived by his wife and best friend, Nellie (Grant) Kinney of Presque Isle; a son, Emery James Kinney Jr. of Mapleton; and two daughters, Reta Bailey and her companion, Jim Wills, of Jackson, N.J., and Sherry and Dale Hafford of Presque Isle. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Heather and Robert Hughes of Germany, Stacey and Scot Robinson of Presque Isle, David Hafford and his companion, Amanda LeJeune, of Presque Isle, Ricky and Elizabeth Kinney of Fort Fairfield, Jesse Gagnon of Florida and James Kinney of Presque Isle; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Hughes of Germany. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a son, Sherdon Trecartin, in 1978. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
