GRAND ISLE, Maine — Officials with the state fire marshal’s office said Tuesday that arson was the cause of a fire that gutted a Main Street restaurant on March 15.
No arrests connected to the fire at Cravings Restaurant have been made, according to investigator Tim Lowell.
The restaurant was a total loss after a fire destroyed the structure just before 8:30 a.m.
Fire Chief Gary Campbell said firefighters believed that the fire started in the cellar, but they called in an investigator to determine the exact cause.
Campbell said a neighbor reported the fire after seeing smoke billowing from the building. Firefighters from Van Buren and St. Leonard, New Brunswick, joined their counterparts from Grand Isle to help extinguish the blaze at the restaurant, which Campbell said was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The chief said the owner, Lee Beaulieu, had remodeled the business after he bought it a few years ago because it had caught fire under a previous owner.

Maybe was “spontaneous combustion of the insurance policy”.

1happyguy2 What an ignorant person you are. I hardly know these people but why don’t you hold on to your horses. It takes someone with little braines to say some smart remarks like that. Don’t forget it could happen to all of us

No, it is you who should ‘think about it’, who are you to post such a sad and sick comment, untruthful too, how hurtful can you be in the wake of a tragedy like this, hope that Tim Lowell is a far more intelligent person than you… your post should be blocked, and any others that joke or harass, or make accusations about matters unknown to them
