ORONO – Rosemae Z. Westfall, 83, passed away March 28, 2012, after receiving excellent loving hospice care at home, with her loving husband at her side. Rosemae was born May 6, 1928, in Sistersville, W.Va., daughter of Alphonse and Pauline (Fontaine) Zeller.

Rosemae was raised in Clarksburg, W.Va., and graduated from high school in 1946. Rosemae and Claude were married in 1948, and moved to Maine in 1952. Rosemae retired in 1990 as bookkeeper for School Union 87, Orono-Veazie. Rosemae was a very devoted and supportive housewife that enjoyed staying at home. She will be remembered for her love and time spent with her husband, two sons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her activities that included sewing, cross-stitching, quilting, knitting, numerous crafts, flowers, reading and the appreciation of music. Rosemae took pride in her sewing and knitting skills in making many of her own and her grandchildren’s clothes. Traveling extensively was a cherished time that was spent with her husband throughout the U.S., Canada, Alaska and Europe. Winters were enjoyed for 17 years in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, and summers in Orono with family and friends. Rosemae was a member of Church of Universal Fellowship, Orono. She had many caring and supportive friends in the church and the family deeply appreciates their thoughts and prayers.

Surviving, in addition to her beloved husband, Claude, are two sons, Scott A. Westfall and his wife, Sarita, of Sedgwick, and Stuart A. Westfall of Passadumkeag; two grandchildren, Jennifer Venske and her husband, Jeremy, of Kenosha, Wis., and Stephanie Westfall of Bangor; three great-grandchildren, Taylor M., Matthew S. and Lucas A. Venske; nephew, Donald Z. White of Findlay, Ohio; brother-in-law, Harold D. Westfall and his wife, Joretta, of Clarksburg, W.Va.; and sister-in-law, Joanne Tetrick and her husband, Dick, of Bridgeport, W.Va.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Orono Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 72 Main St., Orono. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Church of Universal Fellowship, 82 Main St., Orono, with the Rev. Lorna Grenfell officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments after the service at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
