BANGOR, Maine — A man driving without a license was seen by Bangor police Officer Steve Jordan on Friday morning, but the officer was not immediately able to catch up with him, Bangor police Sgt. Bob Bishop said Saturday.

A short time later, however, Jordan found the man’s vehicle parked illegally in the Bangor Gardens and charged him with driving with a suspended driver’s license, the sergeant said.

Jamie Robichaud, 32, of Bangor reportedly lied about his identity in an apparent attempt to avoid being charged, but Jordan didn’t fall for it, Bishop said.

After Robichaud gave a fake name, Jordan had someone at the police station print off a picture of Robichaud’s suspended driver’s license and bring it to him.

“The photo matched,” Bishop said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

  1. Desperate news writers scrounge for stories…..accomplished writers research them and don’t simply listen to scanners….This  isn’t news….this is gossip!

    1. Not even ‘gossip’. It’s more like an everyday occurrence for the PD. No offense to the writer, but this really is not very news-worthy.

  2. The stories like this are direct from the police blotter.  Some like it and some don’t care to read about these mini-dramas.   Just how long, though, has these blotter reports been going on?  For at least 60 years plus in the BDN.  Sorry, guys, but if you commented, at least you read the story like I did, and I agree with you this is no news at all.
