MAPLETON and CHAPMAN – Barbara M. Wardwell, 76, wife of the late Robert Wardwell, died April 7, 2012, in Presque Isle. She was born Feb. 4, 1936, in Caribou, daughter of the late Emery and Jannie (Wilcox) Rossignol.

Barbara loved to laugh and have fun. She loved the outdoors and truly enjoyed fishing.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2005; three brothers, George, Frank and Preston; four sisters, Mary Ann Damboise, Beanie Been, Sally McBreairty and Margorie Holmes; brothers-in-law, Cole McBreairty, Kenneth Been, Melton Damboise and Fred Jacobs; and sisters-in-law, Betty, Thelma and Hilda Wardwell. Mrs. Wardwell is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wimpy and Nora Holmes of New Hampshire; brothers-in-law, Edward Holmes Lloyd, Philip and Gaylen Wardwell; sisters-in-law, Virginia, Beaula and Kitty Rossignol, Roberta Jacobs, and Mary Wardwell; many nieces and nephews.

She will be especially missed by her nieces and caregivers, Peggy Lagasse and Bonnie Burnett; and nephew, Terry McBreairty.

Friends may call 11:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with the Rev. Nathan Gardiner officiating. Interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
