BUCKSPORT – Charles K. Wight, 73, died April 13, 2012, at Penobscot Nursing Home.

He was born June 28, 1938, in Bucksport, the son of the late Edward C. and Olive H. (Orcutt) Wight.

He attended Bucksport schools and graduated from Bucksport High School in 1957.

Shortly thereafter, he went to work at St. Regis Paper Co., where he worked for the most part in the power plant, retiring in 1980 due to ill health. In the early 1960s he was in the Army stationed in Germany. He loved teaching his grandchildren how to drive his John Deere garden tractor. His health prevented him from doing much work throughout the years, but he always looked forward to seeing his sons and their families on weekends. His sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren meant the world to him.
