VEAZIE, Maine — A local woman was summoned on aggravated forgery and motor vehicle-related charges after a traffic stop Saturday evening on Chase Road.
Danielle Celino, 23, initially came to the attention of Veazie police Officer Jacob Ferland about 6:30 p.m. because the car she was driving had inadequate headlights, Officer Dain Bryant, also of the Veazie Police Department, said Monday.
After pulling Celino over, Ferland determined that her driver’s license wasn’t active and charged her with operating after suspension. After looking her vehicle over, he also charged Celino with operating a motor vehicle with four inadequate tires.
At least three of the tires were described as “completely smooth, with no tread,” Bryant said.
The aggravated forgery charge was the result of Celino initially identifying herself to the police officer as her sister, Bryant said, citing a police report. He said that according to the report, she signed a summons that was made out in her sister’s name.

For sure we need to get more of this defective equipment off the road. Bald tires are extremely dangerous for OTHERS sharing the road with Ms Celino. The forgery charge is garbage.
I agree with you on both counts. Bald tires on a rainy day are almost as bad as on a snowy day. The forgery count is sort of like a service person padding your bill so they can then whittle it down and make you think you got a real deal! Like haggling for a bargain at the flea market……start high and negotiate the price down. Do you suppose there’s a class on that at the academy? LOL Maybe the DA has inservices for the officers.
I would bet that bald tires on a car are still safer than motorcycles . The odds of being in an accident and dying are 29 times higher on motorcycles so shouldn’t we arrest everyone to protect them. Maybe we should outlaw ATVs, snowmobiles and swimming to people drowned .
It wasn’t the bald tires that got her arrested, so the lack of money had nothing to do with it. What makes you think bald tires on a car are safer than a bike with good tires? And where do you come up with your arbitrary accident statistic? This state has very few bike accidents for the large amount of registered bikes. Take alcohol out of the equation, and car driver inattention, and accidents would be nill. Unfortunately bike accidents are highlighted by the media.
I agree cmy6, the majority of motorcycle accidents are caused by idiots with 4 wheels, they think they can beat a motorcylce when pulling out. I am really sick of hearing how bad bikes are, when the vehicles are the ones causing most of the accidents
I am not saying that cars do not hit bikes. Just saying the odds of getting hurt are higher on a bike. Many times I have seen a 5 year old on the back of a bike legal. I would bet in a car with bald tires the kid would be much safer. I am not against bikes just saying the laws do not make sense.
As per mile driving by bikes compare to cars cars drive about 400 times as many miles. Just saying
The forgery charge is appropriate. She signed someone else’s name to a ticket! Maybe I’ll start breaking laws and signing my name as “Harry H Snyder III” and see how you like it.
Are you serious, or joking? She provided false information, giving the name and DOB of another, and signed the official court summons as another person. So, when she never paid the ticket, the “other” person would get their license suspended, and you don’t think that warrants a criminal charge? Wow.
Have to disagree Harry, the tires were garbage-the forgery is a serious crime.

Yes arrest everyone who dose not have money.
Fortunately the driver was not as smooth as the tires. If those tires had no tread Saturday-they didn’t the last time it snowed either. The BAT bus runs up through Veazie-there is no excuse for driving that car and endangering another person(s) life. The forgery charge just points out how little respect this young women has for the law-and her own sister. We’ll read about Ms. Celino again.
