HAMPDEN – Coleen L. Davis Smith went to join our Lord, April 20, 2012, at a Portland hospital. She was born May 28, 1952, in Phoenix, the daughter of Harold S. and Theresa Elnora Meredith Davis.
Coleen graduated from Bangor High School and attended Beal College. Being a wonderful wife and mother, her biggest love was being proud of her children. She also loved to attend the activities of her grandchildren. Her wonderful smile will never be forgotten. She enjoyed sunshine, summer camping vacations, Caribbean cruises and family events. Coleen was a volunteer at Eastern Maine Medical Center with nearly 2,000 hours of service that included trainer and scheduler for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Cuddle Care Program. Being a very caring person, she organized a St. Jude’s bike-a-thon, collected for the heart fund, supported St. Mary’s Youth Ministry, Bangor, and Operation Liftoff.
Coleen is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian; sons and grandchildren, Kenneth and wife, Renee, and their children, Ian and Paige, of Cushing, Douglas and wife, Ashley, and their children, Landon and Corbin, of Bangor, and Benjamin and wife, Laura, of Hampden; brothers and sisters, Roger, Christine, Kirk, Steve, Tim, Vicki, Kevin, Tommy, D’Arcy, Michael, Catherine, Karen and Keith; numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many godchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Arthur and Philip.
Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. April 25 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor, where a service will be held 10 a.m. April 26.
