WINDSOR, Maine — Police say a Belmont man has died after his car went off Route 32 and struck a telephone pole in Windsor.
Timothy Simmons was driving south on Route 32 just after noon on Sunday when his car left the road, traveled along a ditch and struck the pole.
The car ended up on its roof.
State police say speed appears to be a factor and the 44-year-old Simmons likely died instantly. Alcohol is not considered a factor but the accident remains under investigation.
Simmons was wearing his seat belt.

There are no words to describe how sorry I am to hear this.
Tim was a good kid. From the time he was a child, dealing with the health problems he had, to the last time I saw him, after many, many years, when he recognized me in the dark in a parking lot and hugged me, he has always been one of my favorite people.
He did his best to outrun the demons and just BE Timmy Simmons, and I admire him for that.
I’ll think of him often and smile, remembering that blonde child, with his winning smile and happy face.
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Wow! Windsor has been hit pretty hard this past weekend with deaths. How big is Windsor? Is it a small place where everyone knows and is affected by all 4 deaths, or is it a bigger place? The size doesn’t lessen what has happened, I’m just wondering because I don’t know.
Sending thoughts and prayers to this man’s family and friends.
Its a very small community…
Thanks for your quick reply. 4 deaths in a small amount of time is tragic, no matter where it is. A small community makes it seem that much worse though, as the entire community likely knew (or knew of) all 4 people who passed.
I hope the community pulls together during this sad time, and finds comfort in each other.
