AUGUSTA, Maine — Gas prices in Maine continue to tumble, yet still remain above the national average.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that average retail gasoline prices fell more than four cents in the past week to an average of $3.80 per gallon.
It’s the fourth consecutive week of lower prices.
The Maine price is still seven cents above the national average.
Prices in Maine are now nearly 19 cents lower per gallon than a month ago and more than 17 cents lower per gallon than on the same day one year ago.

Don’t get too excited about the drop in gas prices. With Pres. Obama’s war on the coal industry and the oil industry, as he famously said,” Energy prices will necessarily skyrocket.” So, keep on saving those pennies – the other shoe WILL drop.
It should be $1.00 a gallon..
Everyone blamed Obama when the gas/oil prices skyrocketed this Spring. Where is credit now for the decrease in price?
Medway, millinocket and E. Millinocket have not heard about this drop. They are about 25 cent more than Bangor. Even more than Greenville!!
Not low enough, sooner or later big oil is going to pick up on the potential drop in their profits and raise it back up and somehow Iran or North Korea will be the excuse.
