PORTLAND, Maine — Police say a Massachusetts man celebrating his graduation from Harvard Business School was tossed out of a waterfront pub before he went missing over the weekend in Portland, Maine.
Police divers on Monday were searching harbor waters near the location where 31-year-old Nathan Bihlmaier was last seen, and they planned to return if necessary on Tuesday.
Police Chief Michael Sauschuck says investigators were covering all the bases by searching the waters. Those efforts were to include deployment of a side-scan sonar.
The Cambridge, Mass., man, whose wife is pregnant with their first child, was with two friends late Saturday when he was asked to leave a bar because he was visibly intoxicated. Bihlmaier was reported missing the following morning. All three men were due to graduate Thursday.

Let’s get out there and look Portlanders.
Another sad day for a soon to be graduate I hope they find him soon
Is there a picture of him?
I know right? Would help a little bit if you knew who to look for!

Is it just me or do many people seem to come up missing after drinking in Portland?
Well some of us know why but can not say in fear of retaliation. Hint, Non Natives
Couldn’t have worded it better. Ridiculous…..this guy obviously had some aspirations for success, but some lame-brain, lazy ______ saw an opportunity to make some money the easy way. Unbelievable. Portland….hire some more cops. This up-and-comer and his family did not deserve this agony, nor does anyone. If he went to Harvard, the family has cash….I’m smelling a big ole lawsuit. Rightfully so.
how much did your “jump-to-conclusions” mat cost?
I pulled a Popeye….I threw in my spinach at lunchtime.

and can you tell me why drinking establishments feel the need to continue selling to someone who is obviously drinking too much. I know businesses need to make money to survive but at what cost? I hope the family will pursue legal action. This never should have happened. Where is the responsibility (first) of the individual and then (secondly) the barkeep – why weren’t his buddies there to assist and perhaps a cab could have been called to send him back to his hotel or whereever he was staying……
Something sounds a little fishy here. Might he just have decided to skip town?
I am getting sick of all these people going up and missing! It really just depresses me I cant imagine how any family feels during a time like this! Lets hope this one ends on a good note. <3
Sounds as if some bad choices were made that night.
This guy probably thought that Cambridge MA as opposed to Portland, ME, was a safe place to be. Little did he know. Welfare state. You come up from out of state when your funds run out, find a girl (not the missing man) and a baby daddy and you’re all set. I pray they find this man safe and sound. I love Maine…born and raised, but SOOOOOOOOO glad I live in a relatively safer place than Portland, Waterville, Bangor, Lewiston…..if only the gov would put all of that welfare money into the new cop fund, we could get rid of these no-brain, no-ambition, n0-nothing idiots that sit around on the corner with their cell phones making drug deals! UGHHHH……..cut them off and they’ll find a new state. Again, prayers to family…hope you find your loved one.
Sorry to see this, but “who went missing”?????? Is this an Alabama paper? Where’s the editor on this?
He was tossed out of a bar cause he was drunk ??
What are bars for if not to consume the legal drug alcohol ?
Back in my day it was OK to be drunk in a bar.
I hope they find the out of towner, soon.
