MADAWASKA and CARIBOU – Cecil “Bub” Saunders passed away peacefully May 22, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at a Madawaska health care facility, after a brief illness. He was born June 12, 1937, in Caribou, son of Cecil J. and Marguerite St. Peter Saunders.
Bub loved to be around family and friends, and any social gathering. He loved showing old family photos when family visited and reminiscing about old times. He was known for his hard work, willingness to help everyone and sense of humor. Bub’s hobbies included bowling, working with “the boys” and making new friends.
Cecil is survived by one sister, Marlene and husband, Richard “Dick” Lagasse, of North Carolina; one special brother and sister-in-law, and compassionate caregivers for the last 22 years, Glen and Jeannine Saunders, of Madawaska; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by any who had the privilege to know him. In addition to his mother and father, Cecil was predeceased by three brothers, Charlie, Carroll and Harold “Peter” Saunders.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart and Lung Association.
