TURNER, Maine — Deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Maine State Police tactical team were working late Monday afternoon to resolve a standoff at a home on Auburn Road.
Deputies were called to the residence at about noon and the tactical team arrived at 1 p.m., according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine State Police.
There is one person inside the home at 1620 Auburn Road, he said at about 5:15 p.m.
McCausland said he did not know why deputies were called to the home.
“Officers are working to resolve the situation in a peaceful manner,” he said.
Auburn Road is closed to traffic.

Sometimes I think people should pay the bills that are incurred during these things…that being said, hope all turns out well
Is it always about the money?
Only very rarely is it NOT about the money.
Yes.. because heaven knows nothing like bankruptcy to help you get back on the road to good mental health.
We really do need better mental health in this state.
It looks as if every police officer within 100 miles was there. Maybe it was scheme by the tourists to allow them to head home without fearing a traffic stop.
Hopefully this will all end peacefully and no one getting hurt.
wow news story about nothing just a stand off yet “McCausland don’t know why deputies were called their”. Why even put this story online if you don’t know why they were called their to begin with this makes reputable reporters look bad. when, where, how or why. There is no how or why, there is no story.
