BANGOR – Fred Hilton Bailey, 71, died unexpectedly May 30, 2012, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Bangor, the son of Dean R. and Helen (Hilton) Bailey.
Fred graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1958, and the University of Maine with a business degree. Fred was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He worked at New Franklin Laundry for many years. Fred’s hobbies were working on cars, woodcarving and working with wood. He had a great interest in drafting and architecture, and he had a ham radio license. Fred was always willing to help others and he had a great sense of humor. He loved living in Maine and riding his motorcycle. Fred’s favorite treat was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Coke, and he enjoyed a good cup of coffee. Fred was a loving dad.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Susan Bailey of Silver Springs, Md., and Nancy Aiello and her husband, Dr. Michael Aiello; and his grandcats, Fluffy and Greystone.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family
Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service. Interment will be private for the family at a later date.
