ELLSWORTH – William G. Vogt, 95, died June 6, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1916, in Guttenberg, N.J., son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Eisley) Vogt.

William was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II in the European Theatre, 1942-1945. He later worked as a building contractor and was a retired member of Teamsters and Carpenters Union.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara MacTaggart and fiance, Roger Sparkman, of Ellsworth, and Wendy Folkers and husband, Richard, of Sparta, N.J.; sister, Anna Neilson of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Tammy and wife, Peggy, Jessica and husband, Mark, Kerri, and Steven and fiancee, Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Sara, Matthew and Gracie. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Florence (Church) Vogt.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, All Faiths’ on the Hill Mausoleum, Paramus, N.J.
