WINSLOW, Maine — A Clinton woman is facing a domestic violence assault charge after she slapped an ex-boyfriend, according to police.
Mariah Ann Cobb, 18, allegedly showed up at a Winslow restaurant where the man and a new girlfriend were having dinner Friday evening and got into a heated argument with the man, Winslow Police Chief Jeff Felanson said.
Felanson said the pair exchanged heated words, and Cobb wound up slapping the man in the face.
Cobb was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault, a Class D misdemeanor. She was later released on $750 bail.
The man did not require any medical attention.
Isn’t it allowed if the woman slaps the man? I see it all the time on TV. Many times in a comedy …..so it must be ok and certainly legal….
That’s why TV is bad!!!! no one should be hitting any one period!
If he had slapped her he would have been slapped on the wrist and that would be about it.

Really? Funny, my fiancee is being charged with domestic assault, the cops didn’t get my side, let alone ask him much of what happened before they charged & arrested him.. Had they bothered they would have found that he was acting out of self defense & I would be the one arrested.. If a man restrains a female who is attacking him, leaves some marks because she is trying to get out of being restrained, he automatically is the abuser in the eye of law enforcement.
it’s so sad to see these young kids get so wrapped up in someone, they don’t get the “ex” part, he doesn’t want you, move on, don’t demean yourself that way… I see it both boys and girls, such a waste of energy.
All she has to do is plea not guilty and then wait 10 working days before getting a lawyer. The DA will automatically refuse to comply with Maine Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rule 16 and deprive the girl of her rights to property (discovery) and due process of Law.
Go read the article about the the Glenburn man.. Would you give the same advice to him? Or would you see him as a woman beater & even though its a constitutional right, you could care less if he got a fair & speedy trial/fair & speedy run through the justice system *if it doesn’t go to trial*.. I doubt most people would care if a man being charged with a domestic assault was being deprived of his discovery.. Also, she wouldn’t have to wait 10 days for a lawyer, where she is facing jail time she can get a court appointed lawyer if she wanted..

Oh thats because she has a vagina, so if we dish it, it can’t get dished back if its with a man.. But its alright for women to beat a man even though it isn’t in self defense.. It’s best for a man to just walk away from it. Sexist or not, otherwise you just add fuel to the fire. Walk away until the storm blows over. If its a habit of hers, find someone else.

I had a friend who’s wife nagged all the time. Wanted a new ring, a new car bigger home and it went on and on.. Thats abusive/, Women who think the are something else and deserve more then their poor husbands can possibile provide.. Thats abusive…. My friend has a big house my friend has this and that and I want it waaaaaaa!!!.. Men that thing you chase is not worth all the effort.. A nice middle aged or older women with lifes experence is much better and you will be way more happy then chasing the 20 yr old who want, want and want more.
