HOLDEN, Maine — The town’s property tax rate will increase only slightly in the new fiscal year, according to Town Manager John Butts.
Residents approved the $2.37 million municipal budget for 2012-13 during the last week’s annual town meeting and the Town Council OK’d a $13.90 mill rate per $1,000 in property valuation on Monday.
“That was an increase from last year’s $13.70,” Butts said.
New Town Councilor David “Rod” Black was sworn in during Monday’s meeting. He replaces Joel Swanton, who decided not to seek re-election.
A story about last year’s tax rate was mistakenly run in the print edition of Friday’s Bangor Daily News.
