LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Dan A. Leet, 62, formerly of Dexter and Oakfield, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Valley View Nursing Center, Loyalsock Township, Pa. He was born June 29, 1949, in Millinocket, a son of Lewis and Carol Moore Leet.
Dan had served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was a member of American Legion Post No. 0945 and American Legion in Maine. He retired as a pastor from East End Baptist Church and was an officer in Northumberland Baptist Association. Dan also had been a pastor in Maine and Michigan. In Maine, he had been involved in church camps, drug awareness programs and was a volunteer for the fire department. Dan was also a former Golden K. Kiwanis member.
He was predeceased by his father; and brother, John. Dan is survived by his mother and stepfather, Fred Ireland of Montoursville, Pa.; son, Sean D. and wife, Kristin, of Montgomery, Pa.; two daughters, Angela L. and husband, Steven Deitrick, of Williamsport, Pa., and Jennifer R. and husband, Timothy Warzel, of Buffalo, N.Y.; brother, Wayne and wife, Sally, of Williamsport, Pa.; sister, Tammy and husband, Jay Russell, of Millinocket; five grandchildren, four stepbrothers and stepsisters, and a sister-in-law.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at East End Baptist Church, 801 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Pa., where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Michigan at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East End Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville, Pa.
