DENNYSVILLE – Henry J. Noonan, II, 61, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, with his family at his side. Henry was born Nov. 30, 1950, in Calais, a son of Henry J. and C. Filene French Noonan.

He graduated from Herman High School in 1969 and later graduated from Northern Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s degree of music in 1973. Mr. Noonan was a music teacher for Eastport School Department and music director for the Woodland School Department of Baileyville. Prior to teaching, he cooked at Millers Restaurant, Bangor and The Cannery, Eastport. He was a member of Downeast Board of Umpires Association – DBUA; Downeast Volleyball Officials Association – DVOA; Maine Music Educator’s Association – MMEA; Washington County Music Education Association; and Maine Teachers Association. Henry retired in June 2004. He enjoyed cooking, being with his family, traveling and meeting with friends.

In addition to his parents, Henry was also predeceased by a brother, George D. Noonan. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Dawn Brooks Noonan of Dennysville; two daughters, Jennifer Ellis and husband, Levale, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Roxanne Meader and husband, Guy, of Readfield; two brothers, David Noonan and wife, Joyce, of Holden, and John Noonan and wife, Patty, of Clarksville, Tenn.; sister, Filene Spencer and husband, Chuck, of Eddington; four grandchildren, Kira Turner, LJ Ellis and Brittany Ellis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Leila Meader of Readfield; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special aunt, Leila Fournier of Freeport.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Spendnick Club, Baileyville. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Growstown Cemetery, Brunswick.
