LITTLETON, Maine — A Littleton man who has been wanted by police for about seven months in connection with a methamphetamine lab discovered last year on Main Street in Presque Isle has been captured.
Darrell Crandall, division commander of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, said Tuesday that Ronald Lewis, 22, was arrested at 11 p.m. Monday in Topeka, Kansas. Crandall said that officers with the U.S.
Marshals Service took him into custody based on a warrant obtained by MDEA agents following the seizure of the methamphetamine lab in Presque Isle last year.
Lewis was wanted on charges of trafficking methamphetamine.
Agents from the MDEA executed a search warrant at the Presque Isle residence on Dec. 29, 2011, after suspecting that methamphetamine was being manufactured there.
Crandall said significant evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing was found at the residence.
At the time, police arrested 28-year-old Leland Alger of Presque Isle and 23-year-old Ray Varney of Houlton. Alger and Varney both were charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
Law enforcement soon began looking for Lewis.
The last reported sighting of Lewis was in northern Maine on Jan. 4.
Agents believed that Lewis was aware he was being sought by police and was evading arrest.
Crandall said Tuesday that the AroostooK County District Attorney’s Office would begin the formal extradition process and ultimately Lewis will be brought back to the area to face methamphetamine trafficking charges.

You can run but, you can’t hide. Now come back and do your time.
I kinda wish he’d done something stupid (illegal) there in Kansas because I’d rather him be there than here. Keep these scumbags off the street!!
22 years old, made meth and sold it, ran from police and will face charges, along with friends. Law enforcement always finds out but when you’re high but that doesn’t matter because you’re drifting on a cloud where they can’t get you.. ~
Stay away from drugs, you’ll never regret it. There’s so much bad that can happen when your mind is clouded and so much good when your mind is sharp.
Topeka, meth, sadly a logical combination.
Blame Breaking Bad.
sometimes it takes awhile but some criminals do get caught. Good Job to those involved.
They’ll spend a fortune extraditing him, bring him back to Maine where they will spend another fortune trying him, then he’ll get two years with all but 30 days suspended.
He’ll learn in jail that he can get all the drugs he needs at the local methadone clinic at our expense. He’ll also learn that he’s disabled and is eligible for a monthly check, payment for transportation, food stamps and heating assistance. He’ll get bored sitting around with nothing to do, so we’ll see him here again… IMHO shortly.
“It is insane to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
I agree
LOL. Make him walk all the way back shackled and wearing a pink jump suit. Now, that would be funny.
ha ha!
This is not his 1st time running. Just did a Google search, he ran from police in June 2010.
