PORTLAND, Maine — A Westbrook man facing heroin charges is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday after his arrest earlier this week, according to police.
Benjamin Grubb, 21, was taken into custody Monday by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, according to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Agents raided Grubb’s Westbrook motel room on June 29 and found nearly three ounces of heroin with a street value of $10,000, according to McCausland, but Grubb was nowhere to be found.
Police tracked him down at the motel Monday and arrested him.
McCausland said Grubb was one of several people who had access to the room, and additional arrests are possible. Grubb faces up to 25 years in jail on the Class A charge. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $1,000 bail.
Grubb’s appearance is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Wow! “Grubb was nowhere to be found” You would think the spokesman for the DPS would ask a few questions…do a little research before giving a press release. Grubb was at the Cumberland County Jail. He was arrested hours before the drugs were found in his room. 25 years in jail! Thats a joke! In Cumberland County a convicted murderer wouldn’t see time like that. More like 10 years, all but 2 suspended and 2 years of probation.
