EAST MILLINOCKET – Lonie Adelle (Caswell) Jacobs, 87, born May 7, 1925, to Lester and Ruby (Thompson) Caswell, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully July 17, 2012, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lonie was married to Richard J. Jacobs, and was the mother of eight children. She worked a short time at Sylvania, Bangor, before becoming a devoted, full-time stay-at-home mom. She had been a lifelong believer in her Lord and Savior and, as a family, they spent many hours together singing songs of praise as she played the organ. Family time was very important to her. She enjoyed every minute she had to spend with them.

She will truly be missed by six children, Richard Jr. and Linda of Vallejo, Calif., Dean and Paula of Sherman, Ralph and Lori, Steven and Diana, Diane and Don Swallow, and Joanne and Larry McDonald, all of Medway; daughter-in-law, Elaine Jacobs of Chowchilla, Calif.; and son-in-law, Harold Smith of Medway. She will also be missed by her 28 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Ruth Marrocco, Virginia Bilodeau, Louise McCann and Hester Caswell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband; siblings, Leslie, Deborah, Guila, Leonard and Sam; son, Robert; daughter, Colleen Smith; daughter-in-law, Linda; and three grandchildren, Crystal, Robert Jr. and Sonia.

Visiting hours for Lonie will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Calvary Temple, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, officiated by brothers, the Rev. Richard Jr. and the Rev. Ralph Jacobs. Interment will be at Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway.
