MILLINOCKET – Francis said his goodbyes to his fellow veterans at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, and entered heaven Monday, July 23, 2012, to be with his beloved wife, Mildred, and his family. The youngest son of Annuziato and Virginia (Dinenno) Pasquine, he was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Millinocket.

Francis graduated from Stearns High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 until 1945 training B-24 crews. Upon his return he fell in love with Mildred (Power) at the Veterans of Foreign Wars dance and was married Oct. 2, 1948. For 59 years they were inseparable, enjoying the Red Sox and the Patriots, family gatherings, their many years in Florida and the weeks at Old Orchard Beach, where he will be reunited with the Pasquine/ Mascetta Bocce team. Francis retired after 38 years at Great Northern Paper Co. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Francis was predeceased by his wife, Mildred; and his siblings, Michael, Mary, Dominic, Margaret and Romus. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Iola Pasquine of Portland, Ann Power of Millinocket, Joy Mackie of Curtis, Ohio, and Laura O’Brien of Lawrence, Mass. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Francis wanted to extend his love and thanks to Cyndi Pasquine, whom he called his god daughter-in-law, who never left his side. To his very special nephews, Tom Power and godson, John Power, who were always there for him. Also, thanks to the many caregivers on Unit E and Unit B at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. “I would like to extend my love and thank you to Uncle Frank for the memories, the many morning coffees and the love he always shared with me of his strong family bond and Mildred. You are home now Francis … time to live again. Love, your godson Michael.”

Friends may visit with the family 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Martins Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket.
