LINCOLN – Eugene C. Ayer, 82, husband of the late Priscilla (Lewis) Ayer, died July 24, 2012, at a Brewer nursing home. He was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Bangor, son of Nathan and Bernice (Howe) Ayer.
Gene was a veteran of the Korean War era. He enjoyed skiing at Mount Jefferson and smoking his pipe, and loved spending time at Cold Stream.
He is survived by two sons, Herbert Ayer and wife, Sharon, and their children, Harrison and Amelia, all of Corinth, and Derek Ayer and daughter, Gabrielle, of Leland, N.C.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
