ORONO AND ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. – Shirley M. Bridgeman, 77, passed away Aug. 1, 2012, at her home, with her loving family present. She was born in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of Lewis L. and Eva M. (Jones) Ford.
Shirley was a member of The American Institute of Banking, National Association for Female Executives, Dance Masters of America, Scranton Central Alumni and Gulfport Presbyterian Church, Gulfport, Fla. She was employed by Third National Bank & Trust, Scranton, Pa., First Florida Bank, Tampa, Fla., and later by The Hospitality Industry Association, St. Petersburg, Fla. Shirley moved to Orono in 1998, and was employed by MBNA and Bank of America. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars/Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 3381, Old Town, and served as auxiliary president for seven years.
Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Kominske of Scranton, Pa.; and her second husband, Edward William “Tex” Bridgeman of Coventry, Conn. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Legrande of Orono and Judith Kennedy of Keene, N.H.; one son, Lawrence Kominske of Rocky Hill, Conn.; seven grandsons, Nicholas Legrande and Dennis Crockett of Maine, Christopher Crockett of Hawaii, Richard Kennedy of Pennsylvania, Matthew, Michael and Mark Kominske of Connecticut; as well as several great-grandchildren.
