FRANKFORT – Janice “Jan” Fairbrother, died Aug. 13, 2012 at her home after a long and courageous 10-year battle with cancer. She was born June 16, 1933, in St. Albans. Jan was a lifelong homemaker, wonderful wife, kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved growing her own vegetables, canning her own food, cooking, crocheting, and collecting stamps and coins. Jan’s family will always remember her asking … “Who loves ya, Baby?”
Jan is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Fairbrother of Frankfort; three children, Michael Frost and wife, Joy, of Frankfort, Vicki Johnson and husband, Roger, of Winterport, and Julie Otting of Winterport and Plum Island, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Cherish Lang-Click and husband, Dennis, Matthew Lang and wife, Dee, Michael Frost and wife, Kate, Jill Frost, Geoffry Frost, Ian Otting, and Kate Otting; three great-grandchildren, Adriana Lang, Mia Lang and Layne Click; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her parents and an infant sister.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Frankfort Congregational Church, Main Street, Frankfort. A reception will be held after the service in the church vestry. Donations may be made in her name to CancerCare of Maine, Whiting Hill Road, Brewer, ME 04412. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
