BANGOR, Maine — A Brewer woman waived indictment and pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District court to drug and gun charges and to helping her boyfriend rob a Caribou drugstore last year.
Amy Geroux , 24, was arrested Nov. 27with Shayne Ellis, 30, of Brewer shortly after he robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy in Caribou of $2,500 worth of prescription painkillers and another $1,000 in merchandise including jewelry and high-end liquor. Geroux was driving the getaway car that day, according to the prosecution version of events to which she pleaded guilty.
Last month, Ellis became the first person in the state to be sentenced for federal drug crimes relating to bath salts. U.S. District Judge John Woodcock sentenced him to 5½ years in prison for the pharmacy robbery, for distributing bath salts and illegally possessing a gun.
The drug and gun charges against Geroux stemmed from her Nov. 22 arrest along with Ellis in a Brewer motel room with a large amount of bath salts, $3,469 in cash and a .38-caliber revolver, according to the prosecution version of events. She was released on bail and five days later was rearrested with Ellis after the Caribou robbery.
On Thursday, Geroux pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and being an accessory after the fact to robbery of controlled substances from a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration registered pharmacy.
By pleading guilty to the drug charge, Geroux admitted that she was part of a drug conspiracy between Jan. 1 and Nov. 27, 2011, that distributed methylenedioxypyrovalerone, also known as MDPV, a component used to produce bath salts. She also admitted to conspiring to distribute oxycodone and hydrocodone, both powerful painkillers, and suboxone, a drug used to treat people addicted to painkillers, according to the prosecution version of events.
Woodcock ordered Thursday that Geroux be held without bail pending sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $2 million on the drug charge. On the two other charges, Geroux faces up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.

Hold on. Let me turn my head a little bit so I will look sweet and inocent for my photo. Click
lol…isn’t she lovely made from love…
This isn’t a photo shoot honey, clean yourself up.
She really is trying to work it.Obvious and pathetic.
24 but looks like 44…only in maine
It’s called drug abuse, and it is not exclusive to Maine.
You need to see a few states…
At least it’s nice for a change to see someone actually admitting to committing a crime . . .
120 months ago she was starting her freshmen year in high school. 4 years down the road when kids like her are 18 the damage is done and only gets worse from there. When she is sentenced perhaps the judge could require her to stand in front of a bunch of 14 year olds and tell them how she got into this mess.
20 years and a two million dollar fine? In Maine? With Woodcock as the judge 2 years and a $250.00 fine
Amen, bleeding heart justice to the core.
I’m surprised Super Petey doesn’t come to her rescue….
shayne, sorry to wake you, but its time to go to jail.
Boyfriend Dude has some crazy hair too.
Another victim of government prohibition. Legalize drugs and make prescriptions ones available freely and everyone will be safer.
Derek-The mother ship orbits the earth every 24 hours-catch a ride back to your planet next time around.
You apparently have no idea about the nature of prohibition. You know about the very first one, right? There was one cop and two people. He couldn’t keep them under control. Its stupid. Its doomed to failure. If you think its a good thing, perhaps you need to catch a ride somewhere? If you look at the facts and the data, Americas drug problem/violence problem is very high and we have some of the toughest drug and violence laws in the world. Many places around the world have much softer laws in regards to drugs and violence, and their addiction rates, issues with drugs and drug related violence is a whole lot lower then ours. How do you explain that? Where they are more legal there is less misuse. Clearly our countries drug policy isn’t working, at all. Maybe its time for a different approach? Maybe its time America stops being so full of itself and starts looking to other cultures for solutions? Maybe we should recognize its a part of human culture and no amount of legislation is going to make that go away?
The government has spent billions putting users and dealers in prison. Billions. It changed nothing. There are more drug crimes and people doing drugs then ever. It makes no difference how strict the laws become. You can start executing people for doing drugs and people are STILL going to do them. So really, all the billions of dollars have been completely wasted. But hey, at least someone made billions of dollars, right? Economic Stimulation! Alright! I for one think there are much better ways to spend that money, but hey, what do I know, right?
If you think our drug policy is sensible and effective, then you clearly are not paying attention at all and you are a product of propaganda, brainwashing and what I like to call “The Sheeping Process”. Go crawl back in your hole. Everyone who liked your comment can go with you. Meanwhile, Derek, Homer an I are going to be big chillin’ on a space craft with some aliens who are obviously a whole lot smarter then humans. Us three are going to learn a lot! Imagine the things we’ll see. Imagine how useful that would be to our species! Meanwhile, as we are learning about the secrets of the universe and super advanced technology, you can try to figure out the best way to eat worms. You can also take that time to think up more Ad homimen’s. Enjoy!
The only drug that should be legalized is marijuana. Where is your logic in yuor statement?!
The logic is that prohibition simply doesn’t work, and the impact of prohibition are worse than the impact of drug abuse.
yeah ur smart legalize everything so more kids can be abuse, killed and born addicted to drugs because more idiots no one would be safer! r u nuts?!
And drug laws are preventing people from abusing and killing each other? We’ve been locking people up for drugs for about 100 years. During that time, we’ve spent billions of dollars and reduced the rights of all Americans in our effort to stop the evils of drug abuse. The result? Drugs are cheaper, stronger and more readily available than at any other time in our nation’s history.
Insanity is sometimes defined as repeating the same action while expecting different results. In that context, i must ask – are you nuts?
An insult about a persons level of intelligence or mental state coming from a person who can’t form proper sentences and is too lazy to write “you” and “are” is absolutely absurd, you know that, right?
The one that robbed the place gets 5.5 years….the one that drove the car has a posibility of 30.
Very interesting
And just like that, a life can be thrown away in an instant.
The drug and gun charges against Geroux stemmed from her Nov. 22 arrest along with Ellis in a Brewer motel room with a large amount of bath salts.
Although there were plenty of “bath salts” in the motel room, apparently there was no SHAMPOO!
They make a lovely couple and have quite a bit in common.
went to high school with her, crazy and too bad
What’s sad is it appears that the only thing we have going for the less ambitious in LePage Country, (Central, Northern and Eastern Me) is the selling/using of drugs, breaking and entering and holding up Rite Aid stores. They say the same is true W. Virginia, the only state with a less optimistic viewpoint than Maine, if polling is valid.
Not true down in S. Maine, not that I’d want to live there, but it is getting scary up here if you read the news. Otherwise normal people lining up to buy handguns and such.
Looks like her life may be over, and for what? This guy is a real prize also.
Prime examples of two individuals whose cranial capacity would, together, not fill a thimble. It is people like this that make you question the future of humans on this earth.
For some reason just because she is a woman she will get off with a slap on the wrist at best. Had this been a second man, would he be called “helper” to the first man or would he be called a full 100% accomplice in the crime which warrants another 5 ½ year sentence? Where is equal responsibility to go with all those equal rights for women when they commit crimes? Radical feminism has destroyed common sense and the justice system in America.
Looks like a couple of new profile pics. Surprised she wasn’t sporting duck lips.
