WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville man with drug warrants who is also a suspect in a theft earlier this month was arrested Wednesday evening, according to police.
Zachary Morin, 32, of Waterville had failed to appear in court on a previous charge of possessing a scheduled drug, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.
“Our patrol division was aware that Morin was wanted,” Rumsey said, and police were actively looking for him.
Officer Brian Gardiner located Morin on Gilman Street on Wednesday night.
When Morin was placed under arrest, he had numerous drugs on him as well as an iPod, two flash drives, a scale and a marijuana pipe, according to Rumsey.
“The iPod was the same description as one stolen from Happy Trails on Aug. 17,” Rumsey said. “Ames had been listed as a suspect in that case.”
The drugs police found on Morin included half an Oxycodone pill, 12 Cyclobezaprine pills and single Clonazepam and Alprazloam pills, Rumsey said.
Morin was charged with possession of a scheduled W drug, a Class D misdemeanor, possession of a scheduled Z drug, a Class E misdemeanor, and a Class C felony charge of possession of stolen property due to his prior theft convictions.
He was booked into the Kennebec County Jail, where he remained Thursday morning. His bail is set at $2,000 cash.
He is due in court Sept. 10.

Hmmmmm.not sure what to make of this situation. A 32 year old with priors. Failure to Appear…Stealing(Really @$%^&*’s me off)….Half an oxycodone pill?????? Flexeril and benzos. Scales etc…… This person obviously is not interested in treatment. So I dont mind my tax dollars to house you Mr. Morin. I doubt though you will be corrected. (because your not learning!!!)The question is why???I think you need to lose a finger and be shipped to Singapore. What a great deterant.
A real pillar of the community, but we should give him one more chance, he can change…LOL
Nothing like repeating the same dumb mistake that got you in trouble in the first place. Some people actually do get clean and sober in jail. He sounds like a potential candidate.
Im not condoning his behavior in fact I’m quite frustrated with situation why…I guess because of the burnt victims and the Howland incident. This person of interest doesnt appear to be a bigtime dealer. Wondering is his criminal behavior related to just antisocial behavior or supporting his drug habit. If so, what is the drug habit, has he ever received treatment and if not what are the barriers to treatment.
Mr. Lepage ordered his men to go capture this criminal, good job and a big kudo’s to you Sir!!!!
