AUGUSTA, Maine — There’s more pain at the pump for Maine residents.

Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail price for a gallon of gasoline has risen nearly two cents in the past week to $3.85, which is 12 cents above the national average.

The national average has increased three cents per gallon in the last week and is up to $3.73.

Current prices in Maine are 16 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and almost 24 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

A company analyst says Tropical Storm Isaac in the Gulf of Mexico could drive up prices in the short-term.

  1. Can’t understand why a fire in California refinery would effect our gas prices when 95% comes from Irving  in Canada in this Waldo County area.

  2. Hmmm..when prices rose under Dubya..wasn’t it
his fault? Since we blamed him then, does it now
mean the community advisor is to blame? Nawww..
    let’s just blame Bush.

  3. Everyone had money to waste on buying and setting fireworks. Dont say you cant afford higher gas prices now.
