SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Anne Marie Spriet, 86, formerly of Greenville, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Dosher Nursing Center. Mrs. Spriet was born May 27, 1926, in Chesuncook, daughter of the late Maud McCloud and Walter F. Smith.
Mrs. Spriet was predeceased by one brother and six sisters. Survivors include her husband, Donald Spriet of Southport, N.C., formerly of Greenville; three stepsons, Dennis Spriet and Paul Spriet, both of New Jersey and their families, and David Spriet of Pennsylvania and his family; two stepdaughters, Karen Rothenheber and her family of Pennsylvania and Kathy Caruso and spouse, Rich, of St. James, N.C., and their children, Brian and Nicole of Virginia, Mike and Jami of Florida, Scott and Ashley of Florida, and Karin of Virginia; one brother, Roy; two sisters, Dawn and Irma; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at Carillon Assisted Living, 1125 East Leonard St., Southport, N.C. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Union Evangelical Church, Greenville, with Dr. Robert Veon officiating. After the service, burial will take place at Greenville Cemetery.
