BANGOR – Jacques Joseph St. Onge, 81, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born March 14, 1931, in Blue River, Quebec, son of Pierre Alexander and Rosanne (LaCombe) St. Onge.
Jacques was known as a very hard working man. He worked at Irvin Co., several saw mills, Reed Brothers, and at Great Northern for more than 22 years. Jacques loved his music and there are many great memories of going to all the jams and seeing all his friends. He had a deep faith in God and a deep love for his entire family.
He is survived by five children, Peter St. Onge and wife, Theresa, of Lisbon, Richard St. Onge of Alton, Bruce St. Onge and wife, Debbie, of Auburn, Michael St. Onge of Bangor, and Kim Barnes and husband, Terrance, of Alton; a dear friend, Barbara Willette of Alton; and seven grandchildren, Jacques, Anna, Bruce Jr., Valene, Rosanne, Kristen and T.J. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Geraldine St. Onge, in 2003; and 11 siblings.
Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the interment at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
