WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville man is facing three charges after an altercation with a female family member, according to police.

The altercation involving Ryan Morin, 35, allegedly started around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to Waterville police Chief Joseph Massey.

Morin allegedly kicked a hole in the wall of a bedroom in his trailer, prompting the woman to leave and take her 16-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter with her, Massey said.

The three were walking down the West River Road when Morin came speeding down the road and nearly ran him down before he slammed his brakes on, according to Massey.

Morin got out of the vehicle and chased the woman with a letter opener, according to Massey. Police then arrived and took Morin into custody.

Morin was booked into the Waterville police station on charges of domestic violence terrorizing, criminal mischief and reckless conduct, all Class D misdemeanors. He was later released on $3,000 cash bail.

The woman and children were not injured in the incident. Morin faces up to a year in jail on each charge if convicted.

  1. 3,000 bail? what?
people at the end of their ropes will find a way of getting back to the victims of their violence!

i hope the woman and children are safe, somewhere that the guy doesn’t know about.

  2. This is the kind of person that jails are built for, the ones who lack internal controls and act out violently toward others. Unfortunately, they usually get out on bail until the next incident. If they are tried and convicted, the sentences are usually nothing more than a tap on the wrist. This needs to change or these kinds of incidents will continue.
