BANGOR – Peggy A. Harris, 69, wife of the late Phillip C. Harris, died Aug. 30, 2012, at a Bangor hospital, after a four-month battle with lung cancer. She was born Aug. 21, 1943, in Gardiner, the daughter of the late Theodore M. and Margaret H. (Lyon) Kinney.
Peggy was employed by Magazines, Inc., Bangor, for 20 years and was most recently working part time as a bartender among friends at the Army Club. She loved life and was considered by all as a caring, giving and thoughtful individual. She was proud to be a member of Bangor Elks Club, Brewer Eagles Club and the Army Club. Peggy enjoyed her family and friends, and enjoyed going to camp. She was blessed to have had many great friends all of whom knew her by her many Peggy-isms, including “thing-a-ma-jiggy,” “watchin’ touchy” and “whatchamacallit.”
Surviving are her three children, Shelly (Harris) Rinfret and her husband, Justin, of Saco, Michael Harris and Veronica Barry of Bangor and Teddy W. Harris and his wife, Amy, of Hermon; five grandchildren, Justin Rinfret and his wife, Sarah, of Yarmouth, Raquelle Rinfret of Brewer, Benjamin Harris of Millinocket, Brandon and Breanna Harris, both of Hermon; a special great-grandson, Cameron Rinfret of Yarmouth; two brothers, Gary Kinney and his wife, Beatrice, of Lakeland, Fla., and Jeff Kinney and his wife, Debbie, of Hermon; one sister, Sherry Melvin and her husband, Gary, of Bucksport; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gus Gargano of Milford. She will be missed by her two beloved Pomeranian “babies,” Molly and Mocha.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside committal service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
