BREWER – Barbara Alice Urquhart, 79, passed away Oct. 7, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility with her loving family by her side. She was born Oct. 24, 1932, in Saugus, Mass., daughter of Francis and Eva (McLaughlin) Biggart.
Barbara graduated from high school in Hampstead, N.H. She was involved with TOPS for many years, where she made many dear friends. There are many wonderful memories of providing entertainment with the Y Players. Her favorite hobby was collecting decorative boots and lighthouses. She was a longtime member of East Orrington Congregational Church. Barbara’s greatest love was sharing time and love with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Urquhart and wife, Debbie, of Brewer, Frederic Urquhart Jr. and wife, Drucilla, of Port Orange, Fla., Mark Urquhart and wife, Debbie, of Stetson, Glen Urquhart and wife, Geneva, of Glenallen, Alaska, Kent Urquhart and wife, Tina-Marie, of Carmel, and Rita-Diane Albee and husband, Dean, of Stetson; the father of her children, Frederic C. Urquhart; a brother, William Biggart; sisters, Frances Foss, Dorothy Noble and Nancy Bacheldor; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a very dear lifelong friend, Jeanne Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at East Orrington Congregational Church, 38 Johnson Mill Road, Orrington.
