I don’t know Angus enough to support him,this is just an observation lookin at the paper this election season bangor daily is very bias. I only looked back at Angus and his record and he wasn’t the best for Maine that’s for sure, but maybe he will be a great senator! He was better as governor then Baldacci and awaiting the results on lepage

When Angus was governor his quote was “Maine is on the move” Which is right. When he started Maine was the fourth highest taxed state in the country. When he finished we were the highest taxed state. Baldacci inherited his mess and made it worse.

NO say it ain’t true. I read on here it’s only the GOP that does this. Remember how bad out of state money is? King said so. Still saying so in his ads. OH WAIT A MINUTE…..that only when it’s going to someone besides King. King has proven ya can fool some of the people all the time. Why isn’t King bring up all the great things he did for Maine as Gov.
Could be Maine plays a subordinate role to NY politics. Here is an example of inaction:

Somewhere I read that Bloomberg supports candidates who agree with him on gay marriage, gun control and one other issue. Gun control would certainly be an interesting issue in Maine. As would banning big Gulps, but I think the 3rd is something else.

That’s only because Democrats would rather take their chances by hoping King will caucus with the Dems., & because the polls said so – Defy the polls, and if you are a Democrat, vote for the true Dem. candidate, Cynthia Dill.
She believes in the Democratic platform, and she lives in an area where 2/3 of Mainers live. I still don’t know why solid Dems. would enter the voting booth and spin a Roulette Wheel.
The reason people think she doesn’t stand a chance is because we live in a part of Maine that gives Dill ZERO (o) attention. To Democrats who keep saying they really don’t want to vote for King…then DON’T. It really is that simple.

I wish None OF The Above were an option. What bothers me about King is, what is the
motivation? Why does someone his age, with his net worth in the miliions, want to get
into this nasty business anyway. More money? Ego trip? Power grab? And when you have
the backing of Dem. Bloomberg from New York it is very curious as to the reasons for this run. I think whatever the motivation it won’t bode well for Maine if King gets elected.
I’ve been very curious about King’s motivation too – I really don’t think anything great for our State in the equation. I cannot help being suspicious of King – the whole thing makes little sense.

If Summers somehow manages to win this election,
it won’t be because Democrats voted for their candidate – Cynthia Dill,
it will be because they deserted their party and voted for King.
Always vote for the person that best represents your values, and King, who is a right – leaning moderate at best, certainly doesn’t represent mine.
George McGovern would be horrified with someone like King.

The Dems aren’t even putting up a token campaign. Voting for her is as good as voting for Summers. The Repugnants only chance is to split the vote of the non Tea Party faithful.

Push is just another Tea Party crony trying to split the vote so his lackey can slide in. That may have worked two years ago, but after the job the governor has done to the state it’s not likely to work again real soon.
Angus will caucus with the party which offers him the best deal, which he says means, the deal that would make him most effective for Maine.
And so there is a small but real possibility that his would be the deciding vote that gave control of the Senate to the Republicans.
For reasons best known to them, Democrats supporting King turn a blind eye to this possibility. They say when asked that they know in their hearts that King will caucus with the Dems on the critical organizational vote. But while they may know this in their hearts, they are not listening to King who says he remains undecided.
If he had decided on this critical matter, he would surely announce it because his straddle is not winning him votes of Republicans who are sure he will caucus with the Dems and he is not winning votes of Dems or Independents who fear that he means what he says in claiming he will caucus with the party which offers him the best deal.

Whether one likes Angus or not is fairly small point when a state like Maine is losing a powerful Senator like Olympia. Angus will have a lot more clout as an independent than Charlie or Cynthia will as party members.
Independents don’t have clout in Washington DC.
Wait until a very tight, very close vote on a key issue comes around. Both parties will be on him like white on rice, or bet yet Holly on the Pope.
