PRESQUE ISLE – Lowell S. Lannigan, 79, died early Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 29, 1933, in Easton, son of Raymond O. and Hazel (MacFarline) Lannigan.
He served in the U.S. Army. Lowell worked for Rathbun Lumber Co., Keddy’s Motor Inn, MPG Texaco as a pump attendant, and then as a crossing guard at Zipple Elementary School. Lowell was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (Willette) Lannigan of Presque Isle; son, Steven Lannigan of Presque Isle; daughter, Karen Fitzherbert and husband, David, of Rumford; granddaughter, Lisa MacDonald and husband, Brian, of Houlton; great-grandson, Brennen MacDonald; and special friends, Karen Winslow of Presque Isle, and Bob and Rhonda Brown of Washburn.
Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will begin 2 p.m. with the Rev. Emile Dube officiating. Interment with military honors will be at St. Mary’s Catholic North Main Street Cemetery.
