BRIDGEWATER – Paul Kilcollins, 92, passed from this world Oct. 25, 2012, in Houlton, after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Bridgewater, to Fred and Ada (Nichols) Kilcollins, the eldest of six children.
Paul graduated from Bridgewater Classical Academy, class of 1937. He then engaged in farming, retiring in 1993, after 56 years in the industry. His leisure time was spent at his camp at Number Nine Lake, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cribbage. He also enjoyed his trip to Hawaii and the many winters that he spent in Florida during his retirement years. Paul was a lifetime member of Aroostook Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 197, Mars Hill. He received his 50-year pin from the Grand Lodge of Maine in 1997. He was also a member of Anah Temple Shrine Club, Chapter & Commandry, Aroostook County Shrine Club, Odd Fellows and Monticello Fish & Game Club. He served on the board of selectmen for the town of Bridgewater for 12 years and on the board of directors for Farm Credit Service for several years.
He is survived by one daughter, Carmen M. Wilde and her husband, David, of Davenport, Fla.; two sons, Fred Kilcollins of Hermon and Jeffery P. Kilcollins of Bridgewater; four grandchildren, Emmi Mitchell, Allison Ireland, Paul Kilcollins and Derek Kilcollins; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Kilcollins and his wife, Shirley, of Bridgewater; one sister, Joyce Sarrisan of Stuart, Fla.; and a brother-in-law, Allston Jewell of Monticello.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes, there will not be any services. Interment will be at Number Nine Lake, where he will be laid to rest next to his lifelong friend, Clifford Spicer. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
